Welcome to our firm.
My professional story started in 1995 when after moving from music to languages to accounting, I finally settled on studying law.
Law is fascinating – constantly developing and never static. It’s the skill of words and persuasion. It’s a strategy of getting where you want to be using the right technique. It may be frustrating and complicated at times but what is the world without law and order?
I started my career in Russia in 1998, following my graduation with the Bachelor of Law from the Moscow Institute of Economics and Law. After years of a fascinating and fulfilling career in Vladivostok Russia, an opportunity presented to obtain a qualification in common law in Australia. The Legal Profession Admission Board granted me extensive academic exemptions – thanks to my parents for insisting on having strong academics and taking on a challenging career path.
In February 2008, I was admitted as a lawyer to the Supreme Court of NSW and continued my path in litigation and dispute resolution in NSW state courts and tribunals and Federal Courts. I have conducted hundreds of litigation matters and been resolving disputes concerning breach of contract, negligence, misleading and deceptive conduct, passing off, IP infringement, building and construction, bankruptcy and insolvency, shipping and admiralty – acting for various businesses, small and large corporations, public companies and government departments.
That litigation experience has shaped me into a strong commercial lawyer, giving deep insights into any contract and transaction. Prevention is better than cure – and that is what we propagate to the business world.
I am forever grateful to many wonderful people who have given me professional and personal support throughout my life and career. I am very proud to be able to apply the accumulated wealth of knowledge and assist people who come to us at AVISAR.
